We are getting a higher spec Switch model in 2021 (most likely an XL version with better screen real estate and processing power) and there won't be a "successor" to that Switch for another 5 years. It's someone you haven't unlocked yet. The community for Ultimate is still VERY strong and isn't dying soon. There's Adventure Mode, AND Classic Mode, for a sort of campaign. I see the SSB Ultimate every now and then at friends' houses and I chime in to play with the basic fundamentals I learned from SSB 64. Find 3-4 titles you want minimum imo. hot new top rising. Super Smash Bros Ultimate is a fantastic game, but graphically it's on par with some XBOX 360 games I've seen and It's a really simple game all in all that's more about it's mechanics then it is anything superficial.

DLC support for this game is until the end of 2021, probably 2022 if Coronavirus significantly affected the development time of the DLC. Not to mention that the Switch is a more functional console that will probably have a longer life than the Wii/Wii U. But from an objective viewpoint, I really don't see how you can argue there's not enough content in Smash compared to other games. Melee had 51 events (I think, it's been a while), a platforming-like Adventure that didn't take more than 20min (but I loved having the platforming in the Smash games. It's incredibly commonly played, and the most popular smash game by a mile (obviously), so finding players to play with won't be hard.

You're garanteed a new character after every run and it's super easy to quickly kill 7 enemies (one bonus level is timed and you can just kill yourself to end it), There’s no doubt smash ultimate is worth 60$.
People play old games and thats a fact, I've even seen people even throw it back to smash 4. They'd probably get a lot more purchases from lower income people and considering how expensive Switch's are I think they really should consider lowering their prices.
