The museums’ F Street entrance is closed. Artworks may originate from direct encounters between the artist and the sitter, or draw on earlier references, such as art historical images or archival sources. Visitors of all ages can learn about portraiture through a variety of weekly public programs to create art, tell stories, and explore the museum.
