It's Saturday, February 8 in 2020. To our biggest RISE fans: We had big plans for RISE of the Jack O'Lanterns at Old Westbury Gardens this year (2020)! The world’s biggest music and lantern festival RiSE Festival Dubai will officially happen next year, and it plans to make its grand debut in February 7, 2020. RiSE Lantern Festival 2020. You read that right: you can outsource household chores!
At this moment, art and cultural institutions are allowed to operate in NYS at 33% capacity. Email * Phone. Because our carvers are all paid artists and because we purchase over 20,000 real pumpkins for our show each year, operating at 33% visitor capacity would not provide enough revenue for us to cover the show costs. We were bringing back the large displays that you've all come to love over the years.
Unfortunately, Covid came and put a stop to our plans. In addition to the safety issues that come with trying to operate a public event like this in the middle of a pandemic, we determined that there were a number of financial reasons affecting us and our guests which contributed to this decision. We had hoped to use this year’s festival as a beacon of healing, but our top priority remains to ensure the safety of … In the end, it was determined that there was no way we could guarantee everyone's safety even with strict social distancing procedures in place. We were bringing back the large displays that you've all come to love over the years. But together they give a collective voice to our individual hopes and dreams. If we were to drastically reduce visitor count, we'd have to increase prices dramatically, and we don't think asking our visitors to pay $40 for adults and $32 per child was fair, especially with so many people out of work right now. × RiSE DXB is tentatively scheduled for November 2020.

Celebrated on the 15th day of the first Chinese lunar month, the Lantern Festival traditionally marks the end of the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) period. Therefore, we're going to put our carving tools down, spend more time with our families in October (for the first time in 9 years), and start planning for the post-pandemic jack o'lantern world.

After the event our cleaning crews recover all of the lanterns from the surrounding desert as well as any pre-existing litter in the area, leaving the desert cleaner than it was when we arrived.

Our lanterns are custom engineered to be 100% biodegradable and to have a short flight distance.
We have a “leave it better than we found it” policy. Previously set to be Friday November 8, the lantern festival from the Mojave Desert in Las Vegas still doesn’t have an exact set date, but hopes to make its huge international debut in February. However, after numerous discussions with Nevada government officials, we have made the difficult decision to postpone RiSE Mojave 2020 until October 1st and 2nd, 2021. You can literally have a four-course meal delivered to you without having to leave your bed, you can outsource your household chores AND you can launch 100% biodegradable lanterns into the sky. Unfortunately, Covid came and put a stop to our plans. With that, we hope you stay safe this October.
